Academic Intervention

The Learning Resource Center, found in Room 141A and 141B, is a working environment where any student can go during study halls to receive tutoring from either a teacher or a peer, take tests, use laptop computers/printer, and/or be scheduled for algebra intervention. Students can also request assistance or be referred by a parent, teacher, or counselor. 

The LRC is open every day/all day. There are teachers present at all periods to assist students as needed. Students can be scheduled in the LRC or report there during study hall.

The HELP Program stands is a free, after-school program available to all Governor Mifflin High School Students. H.E.L.P. is held in the LRC on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:00. The LRC offers various resources such as laptops, a printer, calculators, textbooks, folders, stationery supplies, and plenty of appropriate workspaces.

Students enrolled in Algebra 1 who have been identified as having weak basic skills, will be scheduled to attend three classes a cycle with either an Algebra teacher or the RtII Specialist. The purpose is to support these students in their Algebra class by pre-teaching and re-teaching standard-related skills presented in the Algebra 1 class, so they not only pass the class but score proficient on the Keystone Exam.
